Thrive Students interview the Leader of the Council

This morning, students from three of our Thrive schools: namely Sidmouth, St. George's & Stepney Primary Schools along with Hall Road Academy interviewed Mike Ross, the Leader of Hull City Council. These children are members of the Hull & East Yorkshire Children's University (HEYCU) Young People's Board, these brilliant young people were at the Init Podcast Studios, to grill Councillor Ross.

Both Mike and HEYCU are important supporters of authentic student voice & influence. Over many years, Councillor Ross has clearly demonstrated that he is that genuine "audience' who will listen carefully to young people and bring about change. For those of us who promote the Lundy Model of Child Participation, there can be no stronger role model of someone who is in a position of authority and can make things truly happen. Our sincere thanks go to Mike, to Jess from HEYCU and the Init team.
