Jonathan Roe - Chief Executive Officer
Jonathan has been the CEO since September 2020, prior to that having been a School Development Lead and Headteacher within the Trust. Before entering the teaching profession in 1994 Jonathan had spent 9 years leading voluntary organisations in Hull and SE London in the areas of substance misuse, HIV/AIDS, unemployment and homelessness. In 1993 Jonathan spent two weeks volunteering in two primary schools in Brixton which quickly led to a decision to enrol as a PGCE student at Hull University where he gained a double distinction. He taught at two Hull primary schools and one in the East Riding before gaining the Headship at Ings Primary in 2012.
Jonathan has strengths in strategic thinking and curriculum development and is directly responsible for;

Paula Saleh - Chief Financial Officer
Paula has worked in Education since 2007. When the Trust was formed in 2016, Paula was a Local Business Manager at Ings Primary School. Since then Paula has stengthened her financial experience working in the Trust Development Team since 2019. This has involved working across our Trust schools to provide support in finance and business management.
In the role of Chief Financial Officer, Paula will be responsible for:

Strategic financial planning and reporting;

Coordination of internal and external audit processes in line with Academies Financial Handbook;

Management & development of business central service functions both in house and outsourced;
Kath Roe - School Development Lead (Primary)
(Executive Head - Chiltern, Ings and Sidmouth)
Kath has been School Development Lead since September 2018, prior to that being the Headteacher at Priory Primary School for 7 years. Before entering the teaching profession she worked for 14 years for Marks and Spencer in HR roles in stores and then Head Office. While living in Exeter she completed her PGCE at Exeter University in English and Drama, working there for three years and then moving to Hull where she taught in two primary schools before becoming Head at Priory Primary. She recently completed an AoEC Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching and coaches colleagues within our Trust.
Kath has strengths in supporting schools with programmes of change and developing leaders and is directly responsible for;

Julia Mitchell - School Development Lead (Primary) (Executive Head - Oldfleet, Priory and Stepney)
Julia has been School Development Lead since January 2021, prior to that she was the Deputy Headteacher at Priory Primary school for 5 years and then Head of School for 3 years. Julia studied Music and Primary Education at Bishop Grosseteste University for 4 years before starting her teaching career at an East Hull primary school in 1998. Here she taught across the primary age range, was a phase leader and led several subject areas including Maths and Creative and Performing Arts. Julia has a keen interest in curriculum design and ensuring that children are offered a wide and broad range of experiences to raise aspirations.
Julia has strengths in curriculum design and supporting schools with their development journey. She is directly responsible for;

Pat Cavanagh - School Development Lead (Secondary) (Executive Head - Kelvin Hall)
Pat has been School Development Lead since 2021, previously holding the position of Headteacher of Kelvin Hall School and Executive Headteacher of the 11-16 phase.
Pat’s background has predominantly been as a teacher of Physical Education and Maths having taught in Hull and North East Lincs since 1991. He is also a member of the Corporation Board of Wyke 6th Form College.
Pat has strengths in financial curriculum planning and developing leadership and is directly responsible for;

Strategic Leadership, Management and outcomes across the secondary estate;

Building Leadership Capacity at Trust and local SLT level;

Teaching & Learning – Ensuring consistently outstanding practice across the trust;

Developing consistent assessment and reporting across the Trust.
Ray Khan - Pastoral School Development Lead
Ray has been in this Trust-wide role since September 2017, prior to that having worked to become Head of School at Kelvin Hall. Before entering the teaching profession in 1994, he spent seven years working in residential children’s homes and secure units. As well as teaching in mainstream settings Ray was a Deputy Head in a Pupil Referral Unit, has led a special school and is a qualified and experienced SENCo. Ray joined Kelvin Hall in 2011 and is now the Trust’s School Improvement Lead at The Boulevard Academy. Further to this, he sits on Tribunal cases in the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber.
Ray has strengths in inclusive practice and in all areas of Safeguarding, he is directly responsible for:

Beccy Meilhan - People Development Lead
Beccy has been the People Development lead since March 2020, prior to that Beccy provided HR advice to the Trust via a HR Consultancy firm. Beccy began her career in retail management before moving into the Schools Personnel team at Haringey Council in 2005 where a colleague inspired her to progress her career in HR. The majority of her HR experience is within the education sector.
Beccy is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Beccy has strengths in relationship management and HR compliance and is directly responsible for;

Developing high quality recruitment and onboarding across all Thrive schools;

Developing cutting edge HR policy and guidance;

Leading on conflict resolution and making arrangements of high quality staff conduct.
Paul Browning - Pupil Engagement Development Lead
Paul has been the Pupil Engagement Development Lead since January 2022. Prior to this, Paul was Head Teacher at Stepney Primary School since May 2006, having joined the school as Deputy in 2004, after teaching at schools in Hull and the East Riding. Educated at Keele University, University College Wales and Hull University, Paul has a BA(Hons) in American Studies/History plus postgraduate qualifications including the NPQH. A musician since an early age, Paul has a keen interest in children developing their talents and is especially passionate about the impact that young people may have on their world
Paul has strengths in project management and the promotion of Pupil Agency. He is directly responsible for:

Coordinating the development of high quality pupil representation across Thrive through the various forms of schools councils in the Trust’s schools;

Supporting schools in working towards their Eco-Schools Green Flag awards, ensuring active pupil participating in action planning and action taking;

Developing the involvement of all Thrive schools in the International Pupil Council and Global Partnership projects and work to secure involvement from Hull Schools beyond Thrive;

Coordinate the timely revision and adoption of Thrive policies.
Helen Harrison - Senior Executive Assistant and Governance Professional
Helen joined Kelvin Hall School in January 2012 and is a vastly experienced PA and a qualified Governance Professional. Helen provides vital support and guidance to the SLT at Kelvin Hall, to members of Thrive Development Team, to each Thrive school's Local Governing Body as well as to the Thrive Trust Board.
